Traveling with a toddler

The idea of flying over eight hours with a toddler can seem scary but if you plan accordingly it just may go smoother than you thought. When planning for the long flight to and from Italy with Brooklyn, I did my research. I read other blogs and googled toys for toddler on long flights. Brooklyn was so well behaved on our flights that people kept commenting once we landed on how great she was. Here are some of the different items I brought on the flight!

Tips!

  1. Buy new cheap toys for flight. Since the toys are cheap it won’t matter when she drops or breaks the toys during flight. I left every toy on the plane except a coloring book she didn’t completely color.

  2. For the flight home, buy toys at the airport. These toys can be a little more expensive because you are going home and can bring them back with you.

  3. Bring a new sippie cup for the trip!

  4. Bring a few snacks for flight. Yes, there are snacks on the flight but be sure to bring their favorite snacks too.

  5. Bring you little ones milk. Brooklyn drinks almond milk so we bought the mini almond milk in the throw away containers.

  6. Bring Seat Sitter for your flight. It is a reusable seat cover to help your little one from getting germs. I of course wipe everything with wipes as well but this helps even more. The children’s seat cover comes with crayons too.

  7. Go to the dollar store or dollar section at Target and get cheap toys! But remember don’t show your child until the flight.

  8. Download their favorite movies on ipad and new games.
