Bing was the sweetest, most fun and adventurous guy I had ever dated. We were always doing something exciting and were always surrounded by his group of amazing, kind friends. Even doing simple things was fun with Bing.
One afternoon we went canoeing with all his friends. It was funny how we could be with a huge group of people, but he would make me feel like it was just the two of us there. He and I would speed up so we could be alone, or we would slow down to be behind the group. He knew exactly how to make me feel like I was the only girl or even person there. His friends were such a blast, they were all hippies and so passionate about what they did, I loved that. It’s hard finding a good man; it’s just as hard to find a good man with good friends. After canoeing for miles and miles we headed back to my sisters house to hangout with the family.
One of the many things I loved about Bing was how excited and proud he would get for me when I got a job opportunity. I’d never had a guy get so genuinely excited for me and my career; He at the time was one of my biggest cheerleaders. When I got the call that I was going to be doing collaboration with a jewelry company, I immediately told him. Bing was so excited and proud of me; he wanted to rock whatever I made.
When I recall these moments with him, I realize they are a bit out of order, but I suppose I just like to play the highlight reel sometimes.
One of my favorite days spent with Bing was on his twenty-fifth birthday. Bing LOVES donuts and it was my mission to fill his day up with just that. He and I headed down to a little donut shop called, Peace Love and Donuts. It was the coolest donut shop! You can order a cake donut and then they will dip it into a frosting and put all the different toppings on it. Neither of us had ever been, but I did my research and found this little hole in the wall and it paid off. It became one of our favorite spots. After lunch, we headed to get his birthday cake. I was surprising him with what I had ordered and was so excited to show him what I had gotten. We pulled up to Donut Den and I ran in to get the HUGE DONUT. It was an actual donut that was the size of a cookie cake. It was amazing! We headed back over to his place to get ready for his birthday party. He had all his friends come to his place to celebrate. It was such a perfect night. Around one in the morning with my belly full of donuts and one glass of wine, it was my bedtime. I went to sleep while the party went on.
A few weeks later it was time for Bing and me to head to his parents house to celebrate his sister’s wedding day.
